Move On

I ran out of Dax this week.

hair-products

For those uneducated in the art of hair sculpture, it’s a hair product, designed to enhance your look (or disguise the extent of hair loss, in my case!)

To compound the problem, I spent pretty much all of Wednesday hunting around every shop in Gloucester trying to locate another tub. It was getting very desperate and I was running out of options. Even the pound shop assistants shook their heads with the look you normally associate with funerals.

I’ve been using Dax product for the last 10 years, ever since my mate Glyn introduced the substance into my world. My “barnet” as not known another partner. In hair terms, the love of my life was slipping away and there wasn’t a thing I could do about it!

Move on, Jarvis. Step into the unknown.

Bravely, I gazed at products, that to date I had ignored. Even considered inferior. Could any of these bright coloured containers be my friend? And which one to choose? They all wanted to be my friend.

Only one thing for it: I purchased some strong gel, some matt clay and something called “putty”. For the last three days I’ve experimented on all three. The gel made my hair spiky but I constantly looked as if I’d just got out of the shower. That matt clay kinda worked but the putty…oh the putty. I feel like my mane is born again!

In 1 Kings 17 we discover Elijah is miraculously kept by raven waiters and a small brook. However, the ravens get selfish and the brook dries up. What was once God’s provision had become devastation!

Had God left Elijah?

No! He (as in The Almighty) had just moved on.

There comes a time in our lives when what we’re comfortable with, comes to an end and our reaction is either to rue the loss and wallow in self pity or recognize that God is still for us. So lets discover the next phase of our lives and…

…move on.
